He's Here!!

Our sweet baby boy is finally here!! He's been here for 3 weeks now, but I have been too busy loving him to think about blogging!! Paxton Kay Muir was born October 2nd, 2012 at 1:36 am.  He weighed 8 lbs and 5 oz.  and was 21.5 inches long!! I had gone to my appointment that day at 1:00 dilated to a 4 and 100% effaced. By 2:00 I was in my bed, hooked up, ready to have a baby.  I was having small contractions but really felt nothing and hadn't progressed at all so at 5:00 my doctor broke my water and started me on pitocen.  Not even 5 minutes after my water was broke I started feeling the contractions! So of course not long after that I got an epidural! The anesthesiologist was so quick and I didn't even feel a thing, and I was so thankful for him when the pain eased and I could just relax and visit with my crew! I had a full room.  Preston, my mom and sister, Preston's mom, then my dad and brothers visited later that night.  I was thankful for the company while I labored away!! At 9:00 I was ready to start pushing! Unfortunately Paxton was face up and after pushing for over 3 hours we just couldn't get him to turn or come under the pelvic bone.  So I ended up having to have a C- Section.  By that point I was so exhausted I didn't care how he came out! So Preston got in his operating room suit and hat and sat next to me while they operated.  He was so sweet holding my hand and rubbing my forehead.  I felt like I was in a dream...and I was SOO TIRED!! After they got Paxton out Preston sat him next to me so I could talk to him while they sutured everything up.  I was a little out of it but couldn't wait to just get back to my room and hold my baby!! Finally about an hour after I got to hold my sweet son! It was the most amazing feeling I've ever experienced! I can't imagine how much I love this sweet little man, and I grow to love him more and more everyday!!!

Then because of the C- Section I had some complications with my oxygen levels and then complications with the incision.  So we were in the hospital till Friday afternoon! Longest week of my life!! But I was so thankful for all my friends and family that stopped by to visit.  The girls came and met their brother and that was another sweet experience I'll never forget.  Maycee was (and still is) infatuated with her little brother (see the picture of her trying to see him while he's in his bed).  And of course I'm most thankful for Preston who was there with my pretty much every second...sleeping on a very uncomfortable bed, and catering to my every need.  Here we are 3 weeks later and he still is taking care of me, I am the luckiest woman to have a man that loves me so much and is willing to do all he's done!!
